The steel frame for the construction of a new raised deck car park has been completed by the Metpark UK team.
Work commenced last month on the delivery of a new car park facility for an aviation engineering business in Fareham. Metpark’s team of car park designers and car park construction specialists were contracted to deliver a car park solution to increase the number of spaces available for the company’s employees and visitors.
Metpark’s car park designers chose a raised deck car park solution due to the time and cost efficiencies offered. A raised deck car park is a car park that sits above an existing surface car park and can, in this case, nearly double the number of spaces provided without increasing the footprint.
The steel frame provides the outline structure for the new facility. Now Metpark’s car park construction team will install composite steel car park decking to create the metal floor structure. Upon this will be cast a concrete floor slab reinforced with sheets of steel mesh.
Metpark is providing a full raised deck car park design and car park build solution which includes feasibility studies, tree reports, highways reports, ground investigation surveys and topography surveys as part of a full planning service. The build will also include the provision of crash barriers, steel access staircases, waterproof car park toppings, car park bay markings and electrical lighting systems.
